You’ve been writing since you can remember. It’s how you make sense of the world around you.
Yet when it comes to writing, you simply don’t have the time.
Your ideas don’t fit the ‘norm’. Perhaps you are part of the diaspora and you often feel your story is too brown for white audiences and too white for brown folks. You have access needs. You might live with chronic illness that leaves you too tired to write. Or you’re neurodivergent and don’t know how to focus on your writing ideas.
Yet writing is the one thing in this world you have to do.
But you just can’t do it consistently.
You start and stop. You second-guess yourself. You get overwhelmed wondering where to go next. Exhausted, you doom scroll social media and promptly feel worse seeing other writers dazzle.
“You’ll never amount to anything, you are a failed writer,” your brain says, and you nod in silent agreement as you keep scrolling, eating raw cookie dough from the back of the fridge- may as well crash and burn all the way, at least that you can accomplish.
If you’re honest with yourself, you recognize that you say writing is a priority, yet you don’t treat it as such.
And you don’t know why.
What you do know is you want to be consistent in your writing.
You want writing to feel fun. Like when you were a kid. You want that ‘yes’ feeling when things flow and you know what you're writing is good.
Here’s what else you know:
it’s taking more energy to not write than it would to write
you want to speak your truth without fear of judgement
you want to see progress over perfection
you want to maintain your own motivation throughout a piece of writing
You’ve tried it all: residencies, workshops, classes, accountability groups. These help, sorta.
While you’re in that program, you’re writing, you’re flowing.
But soon after the program or workshop is over, the writing energy wanes. Fades. Stops.
Here’s the thing:
There’s writing. And then there’s your THOUGHTS about your writing.
These are actually two different things. And the second, the THOUGHTS about your writing, is what I’m here for.
I work with writers and artists without the time to write.
I help you identify the exact THOUGHTS that stop you from writing. And I teach you TOOLS to write consistently and confidently.
I’ve been a writer for 20+ years. I get the struggle. I’ve lived it. I taught myself to write over twenty years ago. I know imposter syndrome, perfectionism, fear of judgement.
When I began to examine my thoughts about my writing, it changed everything.
My thoughts stopped being booming voices of authority (and doom). I chipped away at a lifetime of perfectionism. I learned to set tiny writing goals and achieve them.
And then, I truly came into myself as a writer.
I help you with just this.
What you really need to write consistently
I help you to:
create tiny, manageable goals so your writing shuffles forward
identify the exact thoughts that are sabotaging you and reframe them
set a writing plan that works for you- your energy, your neurodiversity, your chronic illness, etc.
“I worked with Phi specifically on reconnecting with my writing practice after a long hiatus. The change that I saw in my perception of my own creativity, of my own writing potential, was so immense. Phi provided concrete tools and reflection exercises to dig deep into everything holding me back from getting pen to paper.
Phi detected patterns, remembered the smallest details, and noted and celebrated revelations. Though I have more work to do, I do feel more empowered to tackle creative roadblocks as I set off on a writing project. I’m so grateful for these sessions.””

FAQ
Q: Do you teach writing in this program?
A: The focus of this course is not writing itself, but on your thoughts about your writing. At the same time, there’s a bit of crossover (especially because I’m a writing teacher) and we dip into craft when it serves the larger purpose. Please note, if you’re looking for a course on HOW to write, this is not for you.
Q: I don’t have a specific writing project, can I still join the program?
A: Yes! You don’t have to have a project you’re working on at the moment. Though you might end up with one you’re super stoked about by the end of the course:)
Q: I’ve tried so many writing courses, how do I know this will work for me?
A: Writing courses teach writing itself: dialogue, scene, story arc. This course is about your THOUGHTS about your writing. It’s your thoughts that stop your flow or send you second-guessing.
It’s like your writing gift is the slick car you own- but it keeps stalling on the highway. This program teaches you to be your own mechanic so your ‘car’ always runs smooth. You always have the right wrench in your back pocket (people use wrenches on cars, right?) to get yourself back ‘on the road’.
Q: I can’t pay the full amount, can I break down the payments?
A: Yes, please ask me about my extended payment plan.
Q: How much time will I need to commit to the program?
A: We have our 60 minute weekly coaching calls.
The rest of the time commitment is up to you. You may choose to write for one hour per week, or more or less (we talk about all of this a lot). This very thing is part of our work: how much time do you commit to writing and WHY.
“I first encountered Phi through her incredible gift as a story-teller many years ago. Since then it’s been personally very empowering to witness her soul-journey and how receptive, sensitized, and generous she is as a Being, but also as a “coach,” which doesn’t quite do justice to her impact. The sessions have left me awe-struck at how much breakthrough of stagnation and paralysis can happen with such loving and intelligent guidance as hers.
Phi’s work is deep; it is extraordinary to find someone so attuned with cycles of the psyche, Being With the Body, and beyond. As a fellow brown, queer artist, it’s especially significant to have support like hers, where certain things go without explanation or translation at all. It can be life-saving. I’ve found immense liberation and freedom through my work with Phi, and hope to keep this as a life-long connection.”
