about the class
The perception of yoga gets further from the truth everyday. One would think this practice was invented by and is open to only white, able, rich women.
My main goal is for folks to have safe space for healing. We use yoga to build a compassionate relationship with the body, whether this is something you’ve lost or perhaps feel you never had. We use meditation to build the skill of slowing down, cultivating grounding and ease in the day.
This is yoga as a way to come home to your self.
In this class, we come out of our heads and into our bodies through a series of stretches and postures suited to all levels of folks. We release parts of the body that are stiff or sore from stress, injury or chronic pain. Guided meditation helps slow down the ever-whirring mind, reduce anxiety, and be more connected to the present moment- in yoga and in life. We end with energy work to promote relaxation.
We share this practice in safe community, which in itself feels healing for most.
